Volunteering at La Vida
Through the generosity of Samaritans Purse and in collaboration with the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church the La Vida Surgery Center was constructed to serve people of limited financial resources in Ecuador.
La Vida is managed by Bayside Medical Missions through its Ecuador foundation. It provides orthopaedic surgical corrections throughout the year by physicians participating in short-term medical brigades.
Volunteer doctors have an opportunity to care for the underserved population in the region. La Vida has two well equipped operating rooms, one of which is dedicated to orthopaedics. It has an Image Intensifier (C-Arm) and a Chick fracture table. While La Vida is an outpatient center, it has an area of prolonged stay beds for procedures requiring longer recovery times.
Volunteer anesthesiologists, ophthalmologists and medical personnel are needed throughout the year. Dates for medical brigades are flexible to suit the schedules of volunteer physicians. The needs are great. The opportunity to show God's love and compassion is ongoing. We invite you to come and serve these wonderful people.
