Volunteer orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNA’s, scrub techs, physical therapists and medical personnel are needed throughout the year at La Vida Surgery Center in Portoviejo, Ecuador.
Trip Length: A short-term trip typically requires 8 days. The destination is Manta reached by plane from Quito. Depending on your travel schedule it may require an overnight stay in Quito.
Regarding Immunizations: We recommend checking with the CDC for recommendations for Coastal Ecuador. Bayside Medical Missions requires that you be current on Typhoid, Hepatitis A & B and Tetanus.
Documentation requirements: Ecuador does not require a visa for stays of up to 3 months.. The expiration date of the passport must be at least 6 months longer than the departure date from Ecuador.
The needs are great. The opportunity to show God’s love and compassion is ongoing. Through the generosity of Samaritan’s Purse and in collaboration with the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, the La Vida Surgery Center was constructed to serve people of limited financial resources in Ecuador.
We invite you to come and serve these wonderful people.
